Hot Desert
Temperature: ranges from 20-25° C , in the summer temperatures can rise up to 100 degrees farenheight or above, at night temperatures can plummet to 45 degrees frarenheight or lower
Rainfall: the average rainfall is about 15cm. a year or less, their are usually long periods of time with no rain and short periods of time with lots of rain
Terrain: the soil is rocky with no subsurface water, this is due to the fact that their is little chemical weathering, sand gets blown around in wind while the heavy pieces
Sunlight: the desert experiences a little over two times the solar radiation experienced by more humid regions
Arctic Desert
Temperature: at less than 10 degrees Celsius in the warmest months
Rainfall: less than 250 milliliters of rainfall a year
Terrain: the terrain is composed of exposed bedrock, rocky plains, and snow dunes
Sunlight: Their is no sunlight for 9-10 months during the year
